How to add a live football score overlay to OBS
OnAirHero reads the live match you open on SofaScore or FotMob in Chrome and updates your OBS overlay by itself: score, running clock, goals, cards, substitutions, VAR, stats and line-ups. Nobody types the score. You need a Windows or Mac computer, OBS Studio and Google Chrome.
1. Install OnAirHero and pick Football
- Download the app
Go to onairhero.com/download (the only official download) and choose Windows or Mac. Open it and pick Football.
- Add the Chrome extension
In the app’s first-start guide click “Add to Chrome”: it opens “OnAirHero: Live Score Overlay for OBS & YouTube” on the Chrome Web Store. Add it, pin it with the puzzle-piece icon and turn on football with one click.
2. Open the live match on SofaScore or FotMob
- Open the match in Chrome
Open any live match on sofascore.com or fotmob.com and keep that tab open for the whole stream (it can stay in the background). That’s your data: score, running clock, goals, cards, subs, VAR, stats and line-ups.
- If SofaScore stops updating
The app notices and switches to a backup source by itself, then switches back. You can also open the same match on FotMob.
3. Add the overlay to OBS
- Set the canvas
In OBS: File → Settings → Video. Set Base (Canvas) and Output Resolution to 1920×1080 (or Output 1280×720 on a slower PC or connection).
- Add a Browser source
In Sources click + → Browser. URL: the overlay link at the top of the OnAirHero deck (http://localhost:4000/overlay). Width 1920, Height 1080. Untick “Shutdown source when not visible”. Click OK.
- Fit it and keep it on top
Right-click the overlay in the preview → Transform → Fit to screen. Keep it at the top of the Sources list, with your camera below it.
- Set your stream delay
Enter your stream delay in the app once. Goals, cards and the clock then appear exactly when your viewers see them.
Pick a style
Each style is its own OBS Browser Source link, transparent around the graphics, so you can combine them with your camera.

Questions
Which football matches does it work with?
Any match with live coverage on SofaScore or FotMob: Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Champions League, international football and hundreds of other leagues, men’s and women’s.
Will goals appear before my viewers see them?
No. Set your stream delay in the app once. Goals, cards and the clock then appear on your overlay exactly when your viewers see them on your stream.
Can I show just a small score bug?
Yes. Pick the full broadcast, a score strip, a corner score bug or a moving ticker. Each is its own OBS Browser Source link, transparent around the graphics, so you can combine them with your camera.
Do I need a different app for cricket and football?
No. It’s one app and one Pro plan for both. Your overlay link switches by itself to the match you open: a SofaScore match shows football, a Cricbuzz or Crex match shows cricket.
Does it bring in match video?
No. OnAirHero draws score graphics only. Add your own commentary, camera and analysis; don’t re-stream TV footage you don’t have the rights to.
